SORENSON A private family service has been held for Ernest M. Sorenson, 54, of Redwood City. He died Sunday at Chope Community Hospital in San Mateo after an illness. A native of Washington, he had lived in Redwood City for 23 years. An electronics engineer, he had worked for local firms for the past 25 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia Sorenson of Redwood City; a stepson, John Dunn of Big Basin; a daughter, Stephanie Sorenson of Redwood City; a brother, Bob of Washington; a sister, Frances Lentz of Massachusetts; and his mother, Tracy Goldie of Washington. Burial was private at Skylawn Memorial Park near Half Moon Bay. Arrangements were by the Redwood Chapel in Redwood City.
