With this database you can at least verify the dates, county of death, etc, to help with your obit request. I checked for your Jack there and found the following. (I left out his SSN)(His mothers maiden name was left blank) MILAM JACK U , b.1909-12-29 in OK, d.1970-06-19 San Francisco Co, CA As far as the obit, the SF public library offers limited free obit look-ups when requested via postal mail; 3 per month if you are a CA resident and 1 per month if you live out of state. Details are here http://sfpl.lib.ca.us/librarylocations/main/obits.htm Regarding VitalSearch.. Many of the CA databases (births, deaths, some marriages, city directories, etc) are free online there. They also have records from other states. www.vitalsearch-ca.com If anyone needs help with these databases, just email me at [email protected] (remove 22) Hope this helps you or others, MeLani

I was helped by a volunteer at RAOGK who went to the Redwood City Library but the film with the time of his death was missing. I know San Mateo is pretty big and that what I am asking might be a lot, but I have been looking for this gentleman for such a long time and I finally found his death on the CADI. Knowing where he was living or if he had family and where he might be buried would be great. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
