    3. Does anyone out there have information on CHARLES J. TAYLOR, who was sheriff of SLO County in 1915? In Sept 1915, a gr-gr-grandfather, WILLIAM NOAH ROBERTSON, b. 1853 Dyer Co.,TN - (became Crockett County in 1872) - made a trip to CA. According to notes he kept on the trip, he visited Santa Margarita. Charles J. Taylor's name was among the notes in his log book, along with reference to his being "sheriff of SLO County." Also mentioned was RISDOM ROBERTSON, "brother" b. abt 1860. We know that Risdom Robertson's family lived in CA in early 1900's. Exactly where he lived - and when and where he died - is not known. Risdom and W. N.'s first cousin, Fannie ("Dollie") Robertson,b. abt 1852, Dyer Co., TN, daughter LUKE ROBERTSON and Harriet Hawkins, married Dyer Co., TN bef. 1875, JAMES TAYLOR b. abt. 1848 SC. It's a long shot, but we're hoping there that there is some family connection between "Sheriff Taylor" and the James Taylor b. abt 1848, SC. This recently discovered little log book, with it's very sparse notes, are the only clues we have to the RISDOM ROBERTSON family in CA. Risdom had at least two daughters. Wife's name is unknown.
