Does anyone have access to the 1870 census to do a look up, please? Any information welcomed. I am trying to find a John Whitaker who married Jane Cassady in 1826 Darke co. Ohio, lived in Henry Co., IN about 1830 then left for IA and possibly Arkansas. Thompson & West 1883; page 355/356. There is a Bio which states he was born in Clermont County Ohio Feb. 11, 1801. At the age of 27 moved into the Michigan Territory and engaged in trade with the Indians. He married in 1823 in Ohio to Miss Jane Phillips who was a native of that state. Came to Ca. in 1861.
