His wife was Eliza PRESTRIDGE SUMNER, daughter of Owen SUMNER, Sr. of KY, MS, TN, AR, MO. The SUMNERs came on a wagon train in 1842 to what became Oregon. 1843 George DAVIS married to Eliza SUMNER at Sutter's Fort. DAVIS's said to be in Sacramento in 1850 census. Then went to CA coast, eventually settling in San Louis Obispo. George and Eliza had several children including Buchanan DAVIS who owned land in San Louis Obispo.
