My gg grandfather JOHN KING CRUIKSHANK b. 2 10 1832 NY or Ca, probably either Contra Costa County or San Francisco. m. 9 15 1869 in San Francisco to MARY ELIZABETH ANTHONY (SHELBY?) b. 9 24 1829 NY owned a tavern in Paso Robles in the later part of the 1800's. d. Pleasanton Alameda Co, in 1915. I have a portrait of him taken in Paso Robles by a William T. Arnold. His brother, WILLIAM T. CRUIKSHANK (who resided in San Francisco as of 4 12 1889 and 6 12 1890 and died abt. 4 12 1901, probably in Contra Costa or San Francisco Co.) worked gold mines where the Hunter Liggett Army reservation, Monterey Co., is now located. And also a third brother, JAMES T. CRUIKSHANK b. 1830, died maybe in New Mexico. My primary purpose is to find the parents of these three brothers, and the wives of Wm. and James, but I would be interested in any info I can find on these people.
