    1. [CASANLUI] Mrs. E.G. Lewis, Atascadero
    2. Last month I posted a message asking for information on Edward G. Lewis, founder of Atascadero, and I received a number of responses, all suggesting I contact the Atascadero Historical Society. Many thanks to everyone who did respond. But.... Atascadero Historical Society must be like the historical societies out here in Western MA, open a few hours on Sunday during the summer, kept alive by a few hardy volunteers who don't have time to do research, primarily functioning as a museum. I wrote, but I don't think I will be hearing back from the Atascadero Historical Society. I have read a lot of info on Edward Gardner Lewis. Our local university library has a copy of The Siege of University City (thanks to KK for pointing this book out to me), and also believe it or not has bound volumes of Sunset Magazine which in 1925-1926 ran a series of articles on E.G. Lewis, World's Champion Borrower. Found E.G. Lewis' date of death on SSDI, and have copies of his obit in LA Times and St Louis Post. But it's Mrs. E.G. Lewis I need to know more about. KK wrote me that she died in 1935. Is there anyone on this list who has the month and day? Also, is there a library I can write to that has the Atascadero News on microfilm? Can check LA Times and St Louis Post right here at our wonderful university library (UMASS Amherst), and San Luis Obispo City Public Library can copy obit for me from SLO Telegram-Tribune, but I imagine obits from Atascadero News would have much more detail.
