    3. Yes, E.G. Lewis was the founder of Atascadero. Here's a website with a short blurb: http://www.pe.net/~rksnow/cacountyatascadero.htm#history The Atascadero Historical Society runs a museum with more information on E.G. Lewis, they may even have a copy of his wife's obit. You can contact them at 6500 Palma Avenue, Atascadero, CA, 93422. Lewis of Atascadero I recently received an obit for Clara Stone Remington, who died June 5, 1959, Atascadero. Her obit in SLO Telegram mentions that 'she was the sister of the late Mrs. E.C. Lewis, whose husband founded the town of Atascadero". Have tried to find info on founding of Atascadero, no luck, sounds like a bogus claim, but is there anyone on this mailing list familiar with the history of Atascadero? Anyone ever heard of E.C. Lewis? Would love to find an obit on Mrs. E.C. Lewis. Both sisters were from Northampton MA, parents were Peter (Lapierre) Stone from Canada and Mary Jane (Laroche) Stone from Champlain NY.
