    1. [CASANLUI-L] Boehners 1887-1917 in SLO County
    2. Dear friends, Can anyone help me with information about where the BOEHNERS used to live? One German paper has it, "Im Jahre 1887 siedelte er mit seiner Familie nach Geneseo, San Luis Obispo Countn, Cal" [In the year 1887 he settled with his family towards Geneseo, San Luis Obispo County, California] Where George Boehner Sr. lived was called "the old Feenstra place" because the FEENSTRAS owned the property after the Boehners and before Henry KLINTWORTH bought it. Does anyone now living in SLO have any "light" to shed on this location. I understand a shack/house was on that property but torn down when it became old and rickety. I was also told a barn outlived the house quite some time but that even it has now been taken down. Emma KLINTWORTH NIELSEN in the late 1970's gave me a picture of the barn and a couple of old square nails she took from the place. Anyone knowing the particulars of the destruction of the former BOEHNER home, please write. Would love to hear from you. Nathan Riley [email protected]

    1. [CASANLUI-L] WARNING
    2. Ken Sartin
    3. I am posting this to warn others about problems with ; Census Microfilm Expeditors 476 E. South Temple , Suite 4 Salt Lake City , UT 84111 website ; www.censusmicrofilm.com e-mail ; [email protected] and ; [email protected] I was lured to order several microfilm copies from this company with "guarantees" of "speedy delivery" and "low price" . My order was placed in October of 1998 and as of this posting I have not received the order or a refund after numerous contacts with Steven Jensen at this firm . In his occasional replies he repeatedly gave false information to me as to the status of the order and cashed the check when mentioned stopping payment on it .I have copies of all documents and correspondences for those interested . Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the United States Postal Inspectors , they have informed me that even they can't order this company to give a refund , but may seek criminal charges . I guess small claims court is next . If you are seeking genealogy resources......consider my experiences with this "Firm". Thank you , Kenneth Sartin researching ; Sartin , Sartain , Sarton , Sarten , Sardin etc. etc.

    1. [CASANLUI-L] Introduction...
    2. Edward A. Black, Sr. & Ruth M. Black
    3. I thought I'd introduce myself since I recently decided to establish this list. My name is Edward A. Black, Sr. and I established this list for those who desire to contact others who have like desires in locating family members, taking part in discussions or doing other genealogical research in San Luis Obispo County, California. My interest in San Luis Obispo Co., CA comes because my wife had cousins who lived in Templeton. Also for many years I made numerous friends in San Luis Obispo County thanks to the American Legion, traveling to Cambria, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and other communities. I currently live in Lancaster, California and I have been married 27-1/2 years, having raised a son, who himself is married and has 2 sons of his own. He lives in McAllen, TX. I've had an interest in genealogy since I was a child [although I referred to it as finding my roots], but due to a job & raising our son, lacked the time until a couple of years ago. I have long found enjoyment in helping others, in my case doing what I can to help in family history. I have found that the lists I've taken part in have helped a lot in locating family members on either my own or that of my wife's family. Enjoy this new site and I do hope that it will assist you users with your genealogical work & discussions. It is intended to be a tool for that purpose. Take care & God Bless, Sincerily, Edward A.
