I believe that Benjamin migrated from Wayne County Illinois and that his parent's names were James McCREARY and Amelia REED. I don't know whether James and Amelia also migrated - Amelia married for a second time in 1855 suggesting that either James died or they got a divorce. My information is that Benjamin McCREARY had two siblings - Mary McCREARY (m. David Augustus Brown) and Samuel Curtis McCREARY.
