I have a picture of my great-grandfather, William Benjamin Dillon (1863-1898), and my great-grandmother, Harriet (Whiteman, Dillon) Smith (1863-1953), and would like to get some help in estimating when the pictures were taken. The picture of my great-grandfather has a note on the back that indicates the picture was taken in Hayden Hill, California but the hard cardboard the picture is mounted on has the following printed on it: Batchelden 183 El Dorado Street, Stockton The picture of my great-grandmother has the following on the hard cardboard the picture is mounted on: O. Cromwell. Photo I would estimate they were both in the late 20s or early 30s when the pictures were taken. That would place the time around 1890 give or take. The pictures are from the chest up but my great- grandfather is wearing a 3-piece suit with a white shit and printed tie with a very wide knot. The picture of my great-grandmother has her wearing a dark blue or black dress with a high collar and what looks like a flap over her shoulders. I can scan the pictures and send them to someone if that would help estimate a more accurate timeframe. Any help would be appreciated. Bill Dillon
