Philip did die at Stockton State Hospital. cert 115 county of San Joaquin (39), city of Stockton, Stockton State Hospital. Philip Teare, white, male born 1825 NY..age 82 at death died 12 March 1907 no parents listed. Informant was his hospital record. Cause of death, Senile Dementia, no contributory causes. Fred Clark was the physician. Buried in Oakland by E J Feircey ???? hard to read. Perhaps someone familiar with Oakland & Alameda county would know. Philip was in hospital for 425 days (1 yr 2mos). In CA 55years He was an attorney at law... worth checking into.. maybe something can be found in the bar records. This looks to be him... born in England, not NY tho... This fits with the age & occupation.. also that the State Hosp records say he was from NY Attached is PHILIPTEARE.JPG census page copy.
