Mrs. King was a native of Sallisaw, Okla. She lived in Modesto 44 years. She was a cashier and clerk at the Woolworth's store from 1956 to 1981. And she had been a telephone operator. During World War II, she worked in Los Angeles shipyards. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Alene Pugh of Stockton. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Acacia Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
