She was born Marcela Tomboc on Feb. 2, 1926, in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines, and moved to Lodi in 1974. Lodi Marcela Gabriel Farm and cannery worker Marcela Gabriel, 73, of Lodi died Sunday in a hospital. Mrs. Gabriel was born in the Philippines and lived in Lodi for 25 years. Mrs. Gabriel worked for various farms and canneries. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Lodi and Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Church in Thornton. Survivors: children, Crispino Gabriel, Epifanio Gabriel and Apolonio Gabriel, all of Lodi, and Hermogenes Gabriel, Ricardo Gabriel, Elmer Gabriel, Carmelita Camba, Severina Cortez and Isabela Taporco, all of San Jose; a brother and a sister in the Philippines; 25 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services: vigil, 6 p.m. Friday, Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave. Mass, 8 a.m. Saturday, St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 2980 Senter Road, San Jose.
