Hello all, New to your list,and hoping that I've found one of my lost branches,and that someone out there will be so kind to help me verify this. My family name is DORSEY<with many spellings>. Well documented in Hamilton,and Glasgow, Scotland,since the time of the Famine in the 1840s when so many Irish families were dispersed all round the world."My Line" came to Scotland, and some "went to America" Every generation had amongst the Patricks and Bridgets the unusual name <my Father's> of FELIX, which also appeared in all the sibling families. Recently "got on the Net" and have been browsing index files in the U.S.A. and found the following entry in the Index of deaths,Cal.:- FELIX DORSEY b. 4th Aug. 1878 d. 28th Dec.1978 San Joaquin I would be so grateful if someone would be so good to look this up for me.I should imagine it will contain details of his parents and their origin so that if he is "One of mine" I can request a copy of the original document This Felix was born in Texas--no idea where,and the Texas on line birth index doesn't go that far back, so this death entry seems to be my last hope. Who knows maybe I'll find a few cousins out there! Perhaps one of you know a family of this name?
