In the research for relatives of my wife, I have had a problem that now may be close to a solution. It is one of her uncles, who emigrated to USA in the early 1900's. We don't know how and when. The only clue we have had is a short letter he wrote from Russ House, Stockton in 1929. The text in the letter made us believe he lived a rather hard (and perhaps short) life, which could explain the total silence after that. He had seven brothers and sisters left in Sweden, to contact if he wanted to. Now, through the combined wonders of computerized archives and Internet, we have found him again in the form of an SSDI record, which states that he died as late as 1970 in Stockton (sic!). Of course our main interest is to find out if he ever had a family, with children or other relatives that we could contact to get to know more about his life in USA. These are the known facts.
