    1. [CASANJOA] Stockton State Hospital Cemetery
    2. Margie
    3. Perhaps a note to our local congressman? Governor, etc? I did check for the current owner of the property today. The computer was down at the Assessor's office.. but the last recorded owner in print was a company in Seattle, WA. I am going to call them Monday to see if they are even aware a cemetery is there (probably are). I was told today that after 100 years of no burials, a cemetery is considered abandoned unless someone is caring for the property. I think this is what businesses are waiting for. I would say write to Congress, Senate, Governor, Legislature, Mayor, Reprsentatives, anyone you can to ask them to allow the names of those intured at this old cemetery to be recorded for the benefit of researchers. If the cause of committal is of a sensitive nature, then just the name and date of death & where buried. I would suggest Rural Cemetery (next to this old cemetery) should have the list, as many, many go in, write & call asking for family members who died at SSH. This way the records are not totally public. and Rural would treat with the respect that is used on the Rural burials. You can find your local government offices online (sorry, don't have the url) by doing a search for "California Government", and the url will come up. Thanks for any other suggestions anyone can offer.
