Done by librarians by hand, some periods were indexed better than others. >From 1991 forward, it has been entered online and is searchable from our catalog: http://catalog.stockton.lib.ca.us at the opening screen, choose Chavez Central...this puts you at a screen to search for books... look at the top of the screen and click on Stockton Record...this puts you at a screen to search for references to newspaper articles...the articles are not online, but if you find anything you need, you can then e-mail us with the details (date of issue, page #) and we can copy what you request (writing reason) and mail or fax it to you... copies from the microfilm are generally $.25 per page... if you do that, be sure to give us your name and full address or fax info. my understanding is that articles from prior to 1991 can be searched also - try emailing Bill Walker: Bill.Walker@ci.stockton.ca.us
