I'm looking for any information on Richard Travis listed in the 1880 California census, Tulare, San Joaquin, as married, age 75, born in Virginia. In the same household is a James W. Ling, aged 75, born in KY and is a bricklayer. Two of Richard's sons are just below him. They are John B. in the sheep business and his brother, Richard N. also in the sheep business. That household includes Con Dimond, a sheep herder, born in CA, Peter Lorenzo, farm laborer, born in Prussia and Christopher Lorenzo, farm laborer, born in Prussia. Richard Travis married Mary Parsons February 21, 1829, in Pittsyvlania County, VA. Sometime after 1830, Richard and Mary travled with Mary's family to Pike, Lincoln, and Montgomery Counties, Missouri. Mary and Richard then moved to Grant County, Wisconsin. I am trying to find the location of Mary's death and also that of Richard. Richard N., their son, is in the 1900 CA census, Tulare, San Joaquin County, District 117, Sheet 9, page 361. I have not been able to obtain a copy of the 1900 census to see if there is family listed with him. Any help would certainly be appreciated. Thanks, Donna Price
