From The Galt Herald Galt, California (San Joaquin County) Thursday, September 27, 1984 Glenn R. Nickel Funeral services will be held today, September 27, at 10 a.m. in the Ben Salas Funeral Home for Glenn Richard Nickel, who died September 23 in Lodi as a result of a motorcycle accident. A native of Winterset, Iowa, he was 72 years of age. Glenn moved, at an early age, with his parents to Kansas, later to Colorado where he met and married Margaret Eberhart in Fort Morgan, Colorado April 1939. In 1946 he moved to Los Angeles and in 1947 to Lodi. In that year Mr. Nickel co-founded Nickel's Garage in Galt, later known as Nickel's Auto Parts. He moved to Galt in 1974 and since his retirement in 1979, he has still maintained his interest in the auto shop. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Nickel of Galt; one son, Gary Nickel of Galt, a daughter, Glenda Sanders of Lodi; three grandchildren; and six sisters, Ruth Ramsey, Ellen Bulmer, Kathryn Hall, Clara Meek and Beth Roberts of Colorado, and Lena Thorn of Wichita, Kansas. Pastor Harold Duncan will officiate at the services and burial will be in Cherokee Memorial Park. (Ed. note: Mr. Nickel was born October 29, 1911, per the Social Security Death Index)
