Tell the Story of Your Ancestors Have you thought about preserving your family's memories in written form? Maybe you have a poignant story of your ancestor’s immigration, a black-sheep or ne’er-do-well rascal in the family tree, or an accomplished ancestor ahead of his or her time. You may have the prize-winning story. C'mon, this is your opportunity to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), polish off an unfinished story or dust off an existing one. Root Cellar-Sacramento Genealogical Society invites you to share your story by entering its Family History Writing Contest. The contest is free and open to the public. Membership in Root Cellar – Sacramento Genealogical Society is not required although annual dues begin at only $21. Winning entries may be published in the Root Cellar periodical, The Preserves. Entries must be submitted by April 30, 2011. First, second and third place prize winners will be announced by May 25, 2011. Complete contest rules are at www.rootcellar.org.
