I checked the 1890 Great Register and there is no Leonard Wallace listed. Leonard L. Wallace 35 years old, a carpenter, who was from Nova Scotia. Also listed is his wife Nellie, aged 25 who was from Ireland. A daughter Lillie A. is also listed as being 9/12, born in California. There is of course no 1890 census, and They don't seem to appear on census records after that one from 1880. The IGI has the birth of a Leonard Wallace in Oakland in 1882. And another for the birth of a Leonard L. Wallace on August 25 1881 in Oakland. His parents are listed as Leonard L. Wallace and Nellie Wheelen. There is a draft registration card for a Leonard Leland Wallace, born 25 August 1882. It lists his next of kin as a John W; Wallace in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He is living in Bethany, San Joaquin County. I think this pretty much confirms that the Leonard L. Wallace on the census is the brother of John W. Wallace of Wolfville. Does anyone have any information on this Wallace family?? ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
