    1. [CASANJOA] Hansell Burial- Stockton Rural Cemetery
    2. John Beatty
    3. Hello Everyone I am hoping that there is help out there for me. I would like to find more info on a burial plot at Stockton Rural Cemetery. I recently happened upon a deed for a plot in my grandmother's papers, dated July 12, 1913. The deed does not state who is buried there. I am hoping that buried there are one or both of my great grandparents Andrew Decew Hansell and Mary Harriet (nee) Beatty. I've never been able to track down their deaths. The plot is described as "The south half of Lot 72 in Block Number 37" The deed also states that it is on record in Record Book "B" (I'm unsure of this, it's difficult to read) and on Folio No. 124. If anyone can give me a clue as to how to further this research, it would be greatly appreciated. I thank you John Beatty Vancouver, Canada

    3. Do you already have his death certificate? Did it indicate that the death was reported to the coroner? I would imagine a letter to the Coroner's office which is probably available on the San Joaquin county website would probably get you details on how to obtain the records. I researched one recently in Stanislaus county and if the person was a relative they would copy the file and provide it free of cost; otherwise there was a charge per page; the office here had an index on fiche and I believe the records had been filmed but this was a death in the last decade. Depending on his usual residence, an obituary could appear in the Stockton Records, Lodi News Sentinel, Tracy Press or Manteca Bulletin. Did he live in Stockton or one of the other towns? ----- Original Message ----- From: Linda Hall Castle <blc535587@thegrid.net> To: <CASANJOA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2000 5:20 PM Subject: [CASANJOA] Robert Patrick Hall > Posted on: SanJoaquin County Queries > Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ca/SanJoaquin/211 > > Surname: Hall, Swashta > ------------------------- > > I am looking for info on Robert Patrick Hall dob march 17, 1888 in Santa > Clara and dod is Nov 18, 1942 at San Joaquin General Hospital and his parents > was Michael Hall & Clara Swashta. > Looking for more info on this family and is there an obit on Robert? 1. [CASANJOA] Accessing Marriage records of San Joaquin Co., CA on the LDS Web Page
    2. Richard Cottrell
    3. You can access transcribed version of San Joaquin Co., CA that are from the microfilm of that counties marriage records on the LDS web page. Go to the LDS web page: http://www.familysearch.com or http://www.familysearch.org Once the page comes up you will see four tabs: Home, Search, Share, Library Click on the 'Search' tab. A page will appear and to the left you will see: International Genealogical Index, go ahead and click that item A page will appear and do this: Last Name: Enter the last name you want to find (don't enter a first name in cas John is listed as Jno or George is listed as Geo.) Where it says 'Event' click and display 'Marriage' Where it says 'Region' click and display'North America' When it displays 'Country' click and show 'United States' When it displays 'State' click and show 'California' Then at the bottom it has 'Batch Number' Enter this number: M586691 Then click the search tab. Now a page will appear and depending on the surname you entered what will display is anyone and everyone by that last name the married in San Joaquin Co., CA from 1850-1865. It is that simple. Now if you want othe counties in California then here is other counties I have found. Alameda M587011 1866-1878 Calaveras M720001 1854-1895 Solano M586821 1853-1893 Sonoma M587051 1843-1889 Also if you will vary the very last number in the batch number it may yield more records for a county. For Example: If you entered M586691 you get 1850-1865, however if you back and enter M586692 it may show 1865-???. I haven't tried it for that number but it did work on another county. Give it a try, it does work. Richard

I would be more than delighted to pay for the time, copy, and postage. There is also the possibility that I can do something for someone here in Columbia, SC ... an exchange, as it were. She was born 5 May 1874 in Atlanta,GA., died 14 Oct 1963 in Stockton,CA in the San Joaquin General Hospital. Her last known residence was 520(?) N. Eldorado St, French Camp,CA.She was buried in Park View Cemetary. Unfortunately, the informant on the DC is listed as 'hospital records'. To the best of my knowledge, there were no children born to either of her two marriages and at the time of her death, no blood kin still remaining in CA.She had lived in San Joaquin Co since about 1919. I have not yet read the 1920 census for Dan and Belle RODGERS. The place of death is not shown in the SSDI, although some of the records show place of residence at the time of death or it could be the place where last benefits were paid (could be a relative or the funeral home). Consider the possibility that a person might have had two official residences; many "snowbirds" do. Keep in mind that ZIP codes change, too. I can cc a volunteer in Alameda that can check an obituary for you in the Oakland Tribune. It's possible that Oscar died at the Veteran's hospital in Livermore where many from the Stockton area went for medical care. I'm sorry but I don't have anyone that can transcribe the death certificate in Alameda county. If an obituary is not found in the Oakland Tribune, here's a volunteer that can help you with the Stockton Record.... San Joaquin - (Cici) <mailto:cicim@mediaone.net>; in Stockton The location of death listed above is the COUNTY of death. My James W(inston) Chennault dropped out of sight in the 1960s. Could this be him?
