Not the same ship is my guess.. looks like a shipping company named the ships for daughters or ladies with Parker as a last name. Not uncommon back then.. I would say 190 days was pretty much the norm.. 6-7mos going around the horn, sometimes faster if the folks crossed the Panama area on horse or foot. met other ships on other side... shaved a bit off the journey. Hello all, New to your list, and hoping that I've found one of my lost branches, and that someone out there will be so kind to help me verify this. My family name is DORSEY<with many spellings>. Well documented in Hamilton, and Glasgow, Scotland, since the time of the Famine in the 1840s when so many Irish families were dispersed all round the world."My Line" came to Scotland, and some "went to America" Every generation had amongst the Patricks and Bridgets the unusual name <my Father's> of FELIX, which also appeared in all the sibling families. Recently "got on the Net" and have been browsing index files in the U.S.A. and found the following entry in the Index of deaths,Cal.:- FELIX DORSEY b. 4th Aug. 1878 d. 28th Dec.1978 San Joaquin I would be so grateful if someone would be so good to look this up for me.I should imagine it will contain details of his parents and their origin so that if he is "One of mine" I can request a copy of the original document This Felix was born in Texas--no idea where, and the Texas on line birth index doesn't go that far back, so this death entry seems to be my last hope. Who knows maybe I'll find a few cousins out there! Perhaps one of you know a family of this name? To anyone who may. help or offer suggestions, I send my sincere thanks in advance nancy@arobb22fsnet.co.uk

Posted on: SanJoaquin County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ca/SanJoaquin/220 Surname: Olson, Anderson, Sunde, Golshaugen ------------------------- I am searching for informationa about resources, to locate the whereabouts of my Greatgrandfather Edward Olson. His birthname was Golshaugen(guess at the speelling), he had a foster mother in New Richland, Minnesota by the name of Sunde. He was born about 1870, in Minnesota, according to later census he was the child of parents born in Norway. He married a Betsey Anderson of Waseca County, Minnesota. They relocated to North Dakota and eventually Roseau County, Minnesota. While in Roseau they tragically lost two of their daughters in a house fire. This tragedy caused a great strain on the surviving parents, there fore eventually there was a separation and the father, Edward Olson relocated to the San Francisco area, never to be heard from again. He was an osteopath by training, but may not have continued his profession in California. His wife died in 1941 so I imagine he may have lived at least that long or longer. This is like finding a needle in a haystack, but I shall not find him, without trying. Thanks in advance for any assistance with locating related resources in that area.
Hi is there any way if someone had a little extra time. I'm wanting to get the names of parents for my gg grandma. She died in Stockton Ca. 1-10-1959 as Katherine B. REESE . She was born 1-7-1875 in Franklin, Indiana. She is my brick wall. I looked on the Ca. Death Index and she is there. Says her maiden name was BRANT So Maybe I could get a uncertified Death Certificate just to see who her parents are. Thank you in advance for any help. Kindest Regards Mechele Looking411@aol.com
