Fred G. Kuest, 86, of 515 S. Central Ave., died early Saturday morning Aug 10, 1965 in a Lodi hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Russia, he moved to Kulm, N.D. at the age of 17 and married Mary Beglau in 1910. He farmed there until 1936 then the family moved to Filer, Idaho. In 1942 they moved to Lodi and he operated a shoe repair shop on South Central Ave. until 1974. Mrs. Kuest died in 1969. He was a member of the Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church. He is survived by four sons, Fred R. Kuest of Talent, Ore., Richard Kuest of Lodi, John Kuest of Filer, Idaho, and Edwin Kuest of Stockton; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Drayton of Lodi and Mrs. Elise Downs of Mountain View; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Lodi Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Merlin E. Foll of the Fairmont SDA Church officiating. Burial will be in the Cherokee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.

She had been an epileptic, and was institutionalized for insanity in Stockton, where she died. She had been living near Lemoore, and is buried in Fresno county at the Washington Colony Cemetery. We have no information about the name of the sanitarium or institution in which she lived, nor about her parents. She was born in Scotland (we beleive her father was Daniel or David Kennedy) in 1861. We are hoping that hospital records will have some information about her family. Can anyone tell me which hospital(s) she might have been in? How I might get copies of any records? I too am directly related to the B.H.K line. I have come across some info on your James Kerrick of KY who left Kentucky for CA but made a stop in Randolph County ILLINOIS around the late 1800's to visit a cousin before moving on to CA from what the early paper of Randolph County printed at that time. This was very exciting to me. Because for a few years I have been trying to find evidence that B.H.K had a sister named joanna who moved from KY to ILL. She married a Thomas Mudd. I found it in the files here at ILL. Plus I found info that may tie the Kerricks of ILLINOIS to the Kerricks of California. The Kerricks of ILLINOIS here in the 1870's to 1920's have all died out now. But they come from Nimrod KErrick whos father was Thomas Kerrick whos father was Walter Kerrick from VA. I would be happy to share any info I have as well. Just let me know. Also, could you please tell me what magaizine you copied for Brenda Morrison, the photos that she has on Kerrick etc? It was called the Quarterly, and it shows the article and photos. What edition is it, and what month, date, year. Would appreciate it very much.

Arthur probably died at the San Joaquin county Hospital in French Camp.. Very large hospital and the place most are taken to if in Stockton area.
