The welcome message will tell you how to request a lookup Once you have an exact date of death it would be much easier to have a volunteer help you with an obituary lookup. Have you done any census work for 1920 - it should tell you where and when she was born; A transcription of her death certificate would also give you burial information. But you need an actual date of death. Colleen

    1. [CASANJOA] Miyai Obit San Joaquin 1999
    2. Colleen
    3. Hi Mykel, First you'll need to have the death date verified thru CADI (CA Death Index). I can cc a volunteer that can take a look for you. Once the county of death is verified, then I can give you the name of another volunteer that can help you with an obituary. I sincerely doubt that you will find an obituary on line anywhere.....Chowchilla is in Madera county. I also checked my disk of obits that have appeared in the online version of the Stockton Record and here is the one you've referenced below from August 1999....the sister that is listed as living in Delano lives in Kern county which is very close to Madera county at the southern end of the San Joaquin valley. Stockton Record, August 11, 1999 Thomas Miyai Heavy-duty mechanic Thomas Miyai, 71, of Stockton died Monday in a hospital. Mr. Miyai was born in Winters. He lived in Stockton for 52 years. Have you searched the CADI on line http://vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search.cgi and the CA Birth index on line http://userdb.rootsweb.com/ca/birth/search.cgi for the surname?
