    1. [CASANJOA] Marriage and death record for William DeLong
    2. Nancy Munson
    3. I am looking for a marriage record for William DeLong and Laura Mae Nelson McCann. They were married between 4-3-1920 and 8-1925 in CA. I do not know place of marriage. As Sacramento will not search for marriages during those years, I have to go to the counties where they may have lived. I am looking for death information on William DeLong who was murdered in 8-1925. His body was found in or around Stockton, CA. Thanks for your help.

    1. [CASANJOA] BECKWITH Family photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of L. D. BECKWITH which was taken at the C. W. Lucas Studio in Brodhead, Wisconsin. The photograph is dated 4 Jan 1892 with the young man in the photograph likely in his teens or 20's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research and thanks to a BECKWITH Family Researcher I was able to gather the following information regarding this young man and his family: Loring Dumas BECKWITH was b. 16 Oct 1872 in Longmont, Colorado to parents Frederick Clark BECKWITH (b. 22 Jan 1840 in NH) and Louisa Patten FISHER (b. 1840 in ME). Loring was one of two children born to this couple including, himself and a sister Helen Josephine BECKWITH b. 2 Aug 1875 in Longmont, CO. Loring married Charlotte "Lottie" Adorra DOOLITTLE (b. 21 Jan 1874 in Magnolia, WI dau of John E. DOOLITTLE and Kate A. DONALDSON) on 8 Aug 1903 in Brodhead, WI. Loring died 11 Sept 1968 in San Joaquin Co., CA and is buried in the Casa Bonita Mausoleum in Stockton, CA. Census records provide the following details: 1870 census of St. Vrain, CO: Fred C. BECKWITH, age 30, a Retail Merchant, born NH Louisa BECKWITH, age 20, Keeping House, born ME Elmer F. BECKWITH, age 21, a Post Office Clerk, born NH 1880 census of Longmont, CO: Fred BECKWITH, age 38, a Farmer, born NH, parents born NH Mary BECKWITH, wife, age 38, Keeping House, born ME, parents born ME Lorine BECKWITH, son, age 7, at School, born CO Helen BECKWITH, dau, age 4, born CO Emily MAYNE, age 13, at School, born WI, parents born England 1900 census of Denver, CO: L. BECKWITH, son, age 6, born NM Wade C. BECKWITH, son, age 5, born CA 1930 census of Stockton, CA: Loring BECKWITH Lottie BECKWITH Wade C. BECKWITH Loring's son Marc Frederick BECKWITH was b. 12 Mar 1906 in Canon City, CO and died 2 Oct 1997 in San Joaquin, CA. Marc's obit indicates that he was survived by wife Frances BECKWITH of Stockton, sons Vernon BECKWITH of Davis, CA, and Anthony BECKWITH of San Jose, CA, and brother Wade BECKWITH of Hornbrook, CA. Loring's son Claude Emory BECKWITH b. 1913 in NM died in San Joaquin, CA in 1928. Youngest son, Wade C. BECKWITH died 28 Oct 1997 in Siskiyou, CA. I am hoping to locate someone from this BECKWITH Family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. 1. Re: [CASANJOA] Old pictures - two questions
    2. It can be very difficult to remove photos that are adhered to pages. If not done by an experienced professional, the potential to incur irreversible damage is high. The American Institute for Conservation (AIC) provides a free conservator referral service where you may select the type of conservation service you need, identify your geographical area, and receive a list of local conservators. For more information about the care and storage of your photographic collections, refer to the Library of Congress publications Caring for Your Photographic Collections and Care, Handling, and Storage of Photographs. Other useful resources include Preserving Photographs from the National Archives and Record Administration and Care of Photographs from the Northeast Document Conservation Center. I'm hoping that something is written on the backs but nothing is on the few I've been able to remove. Any ideas how to get the pictures out of the album? In most cases, all four corners of the pictures are flush with the heavy paper of the album. Most of these pictures, I think, were taken in/around Stockton, CA just before WW I, then some pictures in/near Ft. Lewis, WA during the war and finally back in Stockton after the war. In a very few pictures I'm able to identify my grandfather, my grandmother and a couple other people. Most of the people go unidentified. 1. [CASANJOA] My free ancestry research website
    2. Dan Smith
    3. I've been sending this email to several different mail lists in order to promote my free ancestry research website for beginners. This is not spam. It is only about free ancestry research. Over the years I have been on many Rootsweb mail lists. A person who I was exchanging emails with suggested I send it to a few of the lists in different states and see what happens. So that is what I am doing. It is possible you may see this email more then once if you are on many mail lists. I apologize if it seems annoying. In my frustration with the so-called free ancestry websites and free sites which are so cluttered you need a GPS to find your way out, I created my own. It's a simple collection of free ancestry resources and how to use them. My wife and friends encouraged me to put this website together. I kept getting questions from people who knew I was doing ancestry research and wanted to try it themselves. They were beginners and wanted to know where to go to get information about their ancestry. So I put this website together: http://sites.google.com/site/FunSimpleFreeAncestry It contains a lot of links to websites that are already in many of the GenWeb County websites. I just put them all together with examples of how to use them. So far I have received a lot of great feedback . If you have a website and you would like to add my website as a link, then please do. I have been linked to ten of the county lists so far. Thanks, Dan Smith
