Rominger Irene Martha (Stuhlmuller) Rominger died at her Woodland residence Nov. 18, 2001, at the age of 81. Born in Lodi on Sept. 20, 1920, to Robert T. and Martha (Nusz) Stuhlmuller, she had lived in her rural Yolo County home for the past 79 years, having moved here with her parents at the age of 2. She graduated from Woodland High School in 1938 and completed Margaret Place Secretarial School in Sacramento in 1940. She was employed by Wraith and Farrish Insurance Co. as a secretary before her marriage in 1941 to Harley Rominger, who predeceased her. After their marriage, she became involved in farming and ranching with her husband on a full-time basis. She was active in many organizations, including St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Woodland Opera House, the Yolo County Historical Museum, the Native Daughters of the Golden West, the Yolo County 4-H Clubs and the St. Paul's Good Shepherd Auxiliary. She also enjoyed being actively involved with all of her family's activities on a daily basis. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Langston and her husband Charles of Woodland and Kathleen Huff and her husband Charles of Pleasanton; her granddaughter, Annette Langston of Woodland; her grandsons, Ryan Huff of San Luis Obispo and Tyler Huff of San Diego; her sister, Nadine Salonites and her husband Carl of Woodland; her nephew, Robert Salonites and his wife LaJean and great-nephew Conrad Salonites of Cameron Park; her niece, Carlene Salonites of Los Angeles; and her brothers-in-law, Harvey Rominger of Woodland and Bill Rominger of Bangor. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors Chapel, 175 Second St. in Woodland. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 625 W. Gibson Rd. in Woodland, with the Rev. Henry Scherer officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, West and Cross streets. The family requests that memorial contributions in her name be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Memorial Fund, c/o St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 625 W. Neri died following a lengthy illness Sunday, April 7, 2002, at age 63. Born March 12, 1939, in Merced, Mr. Neri was raised in Tuolumne where he attended Summerville Union High School. He had been a Stockton resident for 23 years and two years of Lodi. He was also a resident of Woodland for five years. He was employed with Westside Lumber Company and later with Pickering Lumber Company. He then worked for Sonora Lime Quarry as a heavy equipment operator for a few years. He was a member of Stockton Wheelers, a wheelchair basketball team. According to his family members, "he was a gourmet cook, enjoyed music and playing wheel chair basketball." Mr. Neri is survived by his daughters, Cindy Aranda of Stockton and Wendy Neri of Lodi; sons, Frank Neri Jr. of Los Angeles and Jeff Neri of Lodi; sister, Catalina Garcia of Modesto; and brothers, Elias Neri of Woodland, Pasqual Neri of Stockton and John Neri of Clovis. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Neri was preceded in death by his son, Brian Neri, in 1992; and brothers, Emilio Neri, in 1961 and Fernando Neri, in 1944. Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, April 12, in Frisbie Warren and Carroll Chapel, 809 North California St., Stockton. A funeral service is scheduled at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 13, also at Frisbie Warren & Carroll Chapel, with Pastor Freddy Diaz of Apostolic Church of Lodi, officiating. My grandfather said (he was very clear in his mind) that his ancestors came from Norway, and prior to that Iceland, which I know others have pointed out, but noone has proved. The family had a fishing history, Great Yarmouth being a major fishing port on the North Sea coast. I am sure we should be able to slot your mother into the chart, if you can provide me with futher details. We have been in contact with Steve Miller so he may have already helped you. Nick Scarles

Braun, who lived in Elk Grove, was the secretary to the Davis Board of Education from July 1999 until June of this year. At that time, he transferred to the position of expeditor for the district's maintenance and operations department. During the 1999-2000 academic year, Braun served as United Way campaign coordinator for Davis school district employees, helping to raise nearly $5,000 in donations. Braun served eight years in the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of petty officer first class. He was also awarded two Navy Achievement Medals for outstanding performance of duties, and was designated a master training specialist. According to a story in the Fresno Bee, Braun was driving on Highway 43 near Fresno around 3 p.m. Sunday when another car swerved suddenly out of the opposite lane and struck Braun's car head-on. Braun was killed, and his wife suffered serious injuries. Their 1-year-old child, who was strapped into a safety seat in the back seat of the car, suffered only minor injuries. Braun was born July 5, 1964. He is survived by his wife, Samantha Prince; daughter Sarah Prince, 13; and son Dylan Braun, 1. She was 84 years old. Mrs. Erreca was born on Dec. 18, 1917 to Pio and Francis Gortari in Patterson. She was the youngest of three children and grew up on her family?s farm, where she lived until she married Michel ?Mike? Erreca in 1937. The couple soon moved to the Esparto area, where they resided with their three daughters until 1957. In 1970 Mr. and Mrs. Erreca returned to Yolo County, and made their home in Winters. She lived there until the last few months, when declining mobility caused her to move to Sierra Convalescent Home in Davis. Mrs. Erreca was a homemaker all of her adult life. After raising her children and helping to raise her grandchildren, she provided day care in her home to numerous children for several years. She was a true "grandma" to all of them, and many of the children she cared for continued to visit her up until her death. She truly loved the little children and always looked forward to seeing her natural and "adopted" grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Erreca was a member of St. Anthony?s Parish, the Altar Society and the Winters Fortnightly Club. A genuinely caring person, she always had a smile for all she met. She was particularly devoted to her family and was always willing to help in any way possible. She will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Erreca was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Mike Erreca; brother Gordon Gortari, sister Lillian Fisher, and daughter Grace Holeman. She is survived by her daughter Noreen Bottomley and husband Les of Greenbrae and her daughter Shirlee Griffin Hailey and husband Bill of Winters. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kelley Bottomley, Les Bottomley, Denise Bottomley, Steven Bottomley, Mathew Bottomley, George Griffin, Sheree Griffin Jamieson, Valerie Rasmussen and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was held for Mrs. Erreca on Tuesday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony?s Church in Winters, with interment following at the Winters Cemetery. McNary?s chapel handled the arrangements.
