The director was Helen Moore Roberts. Does anyone have 8mm movies, or still photos of any of the performances? She is especially interested in the 1963-1964 season. She does not have any record of her dancing performances to put into her family history and would be so grateful for copies from anyone else. Thank you.
Can anyone tell me how to get copies of probate records? I have the estate and book numbers. Cindy

They both came from IA and may have married there or in San Joaquin Co. Perl's nephew visited them in the period 1951-55 in San Joaquin Co. They lived in Modesto, Stanislaus Co. from sometime in the 1950s, where they both died. I don't have a specific year when they married and feel sure that an enquiry through the mail with vague data won't get much response. My questions are: (1) Can anyone look up the marriage indexes for these earlier-than-1965 years? (2) Can anyone order a marriage certificate? California seems to vary from county to county.

Looking for the decendents of Alfred and Rose HART MARTIN. They had six children. Rose was born in Missouri, grew up in southeastern Kansas, moved to Texas and then to Stockton, California where she died in September 1911. I think their son John MARTIN may have married a girl named Rose and may have moved to Colorado. One of Alfred and Rose Martin's daughters married a man who's last name is THEODORE. I don't know when Alfred died. Thank you for any information. Vicki __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Buchwalter (this class did not list full first names for graduates when their pictures was in the yearbook; the did for those without pictures). Am sending photo to your prime e-mail address. For your info, graduation in this case means from the 10th grade, not the 12th which people normally associate with high school graduation. I checked the 1951 year book for Stockton College (which at that time is where he would have obtained his last 2 years of high school if he stayed in the Stockton School District) and could not find him as a 1951 graduate. That's all the info I have. Am not sure his class is having reunions which might be a source of info. Mine (Stockton College-high school 1952) is having one in June of this year. Sorry I can't be of more help. Vern D

Dear Senator Fitzgerald: As you know, Senate Bill 2039 for approval to expand O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, will also approve the destruction of two historic cemeteries known as St. John' Church Cemetery and the Methodist cemetery known as Rest Haven. I applaud your efforts to help save these places of eternal rest from the horrendous task of relocation that will disrupt that rest. I am a resident of California. My family came here in 1850 with the Gold Rush. They came here from Illinois. California also seems to believe that eternal rest is not truly eternal for, in the past several years, many cemeteries have been destroyed or adversely impacted by projects of modern devise. Much of the nation, as a whole, seems to be experiencing the same dilemma, as is apparent by emails and postings to the internet. In 1961, the California Appellate Court ruled against the Superior Court, the California Dept. of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration in their efforts to approve the eminent domain taking of a portion of Eden Memorial Park Cemetery for the construction of the Santa Monica freeway in Los Angeles County. The Court ruled that a highway served no better public purpose than a cemetery. I would opine the same should apply to the expansion of the airport. On September 11th, 2001, the families of over 2,800 people lost loved ones in the worst attack the nation has ever known. Those families, Senator Fitzgerald, will never have a grave to visit to help them through their loss. In years to come, those families cannot take the next generation of their family to visit grandparents those children will never know. September 11th stole more than just their lives. It stole the tangible evidence of their very existence. That, Senator Fitzgerald, is what cemeteries are all about. Cemeteries are not just for the dead. They are for the living; so that we may always have a place to visit, to "talk" with our deceased loved ones, to share our happiness and our sorrows, and to continue the memories of those who have been lost to us. Senate Bill 2039, will not only cause the destruction of St. John's and Rest Haven, but will cause untold emotional anguish for the many living descendants of those persons now buried there. I would encourage you to continue your discourse regarding the adversity this expansion plan will thrust upon the dead and the living. This nation cannot continue to thrust aside the last homes of our nation's pioneering citizenry as if their value is less in death than it was in life. She was 81. Born June 30, 1919, in Stockton, she was the first of two daughters of Charles Henry Nazro, an executive with an industrial pump manufacturer, and the former Nell Shew, a homemaker. She grew up in Stockton and Berkeley with her parents and her sister Jeanne, graduating from Berkeley High School in 1937. After graduation, she attended Pomona College, where she met her future husband in a freshman history class. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in psychology in June 1941, and she and Hal were wed the same month. After graduation, the couple moved to Arizona and had two daughters, Anne and Catherine. When World War II intervened, she and her daughters moved to San Marino to live with parents, while Hal served in the U.S. Navy. After the war, the young family settled in Arcadia where their three sons, Christopher, Lee and Harold Jr. were born. She returned to college while her two youngest children were still in high school and earned a teaching credential. She taught elementary school in the Rosemead school district for 15 years. When the couple retired in 1980, they moved to Ukiah to be near their daughter Catherine and grandchildren, John, Charles and Aileen Boyd. In February 2001, she and Hal moved to Woodland to reside in the Palm Gardens assisted living residence. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, crossword puzzles, and, especially, her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Hal Jackson; her children, Lee Jackson and his wife Christa of Davis, Anne Jackson of Davis, Catherine Tanaka and her husband Sanford of Ukiah, Christopher Jackson and his wife Lorelei of Mohnton, Pa., and Harold Jackson Jr. and his partner T Santora of Washington, D.C.; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Allison and Tim Jackson of Davis; Jessica Wright-Jackson of Davis, John Boyd and his wife Erika of Pasadena, Charles Boyd of New Haven, Conn., Aileen Boyd of San Francisco, Christopher Jackson of Medford, Mass., and Kate Jackson of Washington, D.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Katrina and Luke Boyd of Pasadena. A memorial service was held May 27 in Davis, followed by a burial service on June 3 at the Davis Cemetery. The family would like to express its gratitude to the Palm Gardens assisted living residence and to Yolo Hospice for the kind and excellent care provided to Eleanor during the last months of her life.
