    3. Hej! From California Here is who looks to be your Simon Petrus' exact death information: HAMRIN SIMON PETRUS 01/01/1877 M UNKNOWN SAN JOAQUIN 03/09/1944 67 yrs Add This information from the California death index at rootsweb.com http://vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search.cgi CADI at Rootsweb In the United States the dates are MM/DD/YYYY in Sweden they are DD/MM/YYYY Hope this helps some. I won't have time to check this until after midterm tests.. so perhaps someone on the list can get this for you. There are other Hamrin (10 only) of that exact spelling.. none from San Joaquin county, most in Los Angeles area. Margie Buren Campbell Lodi, San Joaquin county, California, USA Looking for ancestor's of Erik Oskar Wenström b 1881 in Brännkyrka, Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden PS... I put my grandpa here so folks can see the listing of town/parish, county or township/lan, state/lanskap, country/country It's not a perfect match... but fairly similar For example... Brännkyrka is the church parish within Stockholm city, Stockholm lan in the country of Sweden. Our county recorder is in Stockton, O'Neil township, San Joaquin County, state of California, USA We seldom use township when we refer to an address in the united states... as they are used for mapping and tax purposes, and can cover more than one county. 1. [CASanJoaquin] Tulare Township
    2. Margie Campbell
    3. If in doubt.. ask the library! Tulare Township in San Joaquin County is in the southwest corner of the county. It starts at the north end with a straight line running from the western boundary of the county to the east from just below Stockton and above French Camp (though fully to the west of them). The left boundary is the county line, the right boundary is the San Joaquin River as it runs south down to Stanislaus County. On the west it shares some boundary with Contra Costa County to the north and more with Alameda County to the south. It includes Union Island and a small section of Roberts Island between Middle River and the San Joaquin River between French Camp and Lathrop (though fully to the west of both). It includes the towns Bethany, Banta, Tracy, Ellis, and San Joaquin City. This information comes from the township maps in Frank T. Gilbert's HISTORY OF SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: WITH ILLUSTRATIONS . . . . published by Thompson & West in 1879. I made copies of the maps that are in a Ready Reference folder called "Maps -- Township" that is kept at the reference desk at Chavez Central Library. Mt. Diablo is almost squarely in the middle of Contra Costa County to the west of Tulare Township. I hope my description is helpful to you. --Karen Ramos Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library 605 N El Dorado St. Stockton, California 95202-1999 209-937-8221 -----Original Message----- From: NORCAL-D-request@rootsweb.com [mailto:NORCAL-D-request@rootsweb.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 08, 2002 2:01 AM To: NORCAL-D@rootsweb.com Subject: NORCAL-D Digest V02 #1134
