It is the Pacific Mail Steamship Co., however they also had offices in Ney York and over thirty ships "first Class" that could sail around the world in 88 days. There is a history on the company now I wish I had xeroxed. A lot of freight from souyth america. Huge import and warehouse business.They used to be a public company on the stock exchange out of New York, but through government intervention, became "publically owned" and then went down the tubes. I will try and go back to the main library soon and get the information. I had relatives that worked there too. I know where to get the data, but I'm just starting school tomorrow and also am facing an eviction before the end of the month. They want to replace my place with a new monster home. Trying to fight the good fight.... but I will deliver. You know the old addage, "If you want something done, ask a busy man". I know where to find it in the City Directory on the fifth floor.
