Hi List, Is there an index of burials at Mission Dolores cemetery covering the late 1850's? One version of my family's story is that John CARMODY and his wife Mary MADIGAN came to San Francisco from New Hampshire by ship in the 1850's. Their youngest son died of measles on the boat and was buried at Mission Dolores. An index might help pin down their arrival date. John CARMODY was in New Hampshire in 1856. He hasn't yet been found on an 1860 census. He missed the 1870 census when he died in May 1870 in Oakland, about five weeks before Oakland started to issue death certificates. There was no obit for the Oakland Library to find. I have arranged to have a cactus placed on his grave this Memorial Day. Any suggestions appreciated. Hank Knowlton
