In 1975 I was at the Washington Archives locating data on my paternal branch of family. I wasn't into genealogy like now! <g> My mother's parents married 1910 and emigrated from Europe in 1911 & 1912. Everything mom told me, I located in the archives. I didn't get copies of the ships they arrived on and etc., figured I'd get back. Ya, sure. I have looked at the information about them on the Ellis Island site and they have my grandmother arriving in 1905 and what possible could be my grandfather 1909. Their surname name is very unusual and I have used variations as well and less than 10 individual's with that name have ever immigrated to the US. My aunt was never listed. Use Ellis Island data as a lead and get documentation.
