Are you sure they didn't mean the Key System Ferry? This was separate from the SP ferries from SF and had a terminal on the Eastern side of Treasure Island. This link has a map showing it. The file is very large and takes awhile to open. Bill No they said about the ferries from Oakland, but that you could take the Key System trains there also.
