    3. Thanks for this link! Neither my grandfather (b. 1884) nor his 2 brothers 9b. 1886 and 1892) are there. The 2 oldest were born in New Zealand, but were naturalized. Wouldn't they all have to register? 3. The database description is detailed at the search site-------and this footnote posted there is most important: NOTE: This database, although providing information on over 5% of all men registered, represents approximately 13% of all counties nationwide. Researchers will find complete coverage of Alaska, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Mississippi, and Nevada and a good representation from Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New York City, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Vermont. Ray Banks did do Mariposa County- there were folks living there who had connections to San Francisco County-- ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ca/mariposa/military/mariposadraft.txt Best, Carolyn
