During a trip to California in January 1899 he suddenly passed away, and a Fremont-newspaper wrote January 6th, 1899: "The remains of the late Thomas Ostergard, who died recently at San Francisco, California, are expected here soon for interment in Ridge cemetery. Funeral services have not yet been arranged for". Few days later the same newspaper wrote: "The remains of the late Thomas Ostergard will be left in a vault at San Francisco, instead of being interred here, as proposed". Thomas Ostergard was my grandmother's brother. I have been in contact with the office at Ridge cemetery in Fremont, Nebraska, but very friendly people there couldn't tell at which cemetery in California Thomas Ostergard was buried. Few years after 1899 Thomas Ostergard's wife, Sine Ostergard, born Andersen/Anderson, passed away, and I take it for granted that her casket was taken from Nebraska to the vault in San Francisco, where her late husband was buried. How can I get to know the cemetery, at which Thomas and Sine Ostergard are buried? Is there a nice person in California, who will help me, please? Maybe I can help you with some information about your ancestors in Denmark. Friendly Yours, Hans Poulsen Frederiksberg Copenhagen Denmark
