Some time ago, British Columbia put their birth, marriage and death index online, from the start of their records (about 1870s), subject to a privacy-driven lapse of time (100 years for births, 20 for deaths). It's an invaluable resource if you have ancestors who were in BC. Ancestry.com also has this data base online, but as a subscription data base (somehow, that doesn't seem right). Anyway, the BC archives (free index) is at: http://www.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/index.htm Carol Nash
