    3. Dear Listers, I have a rather unusual problem and I am hoping someone on the list who actually lives in the area can help me. I've recently been in contact with a woman who owns the Civil War Diary of my great great grandfather, Samuel Kerr. She is unwilling to sell it, and unwilling to copy it by conventional methods because of the diary's fragility, which I can understand. I and many other family members are anxious to see the diaries contents, and the lady is willing to transcribe it, but I have suggested the use of a so called 'open face' copier - where the copying mechanism is lower to the face of the book, and have also had a suggestion to microfilm the diary. The problem is I need to know where in the area might have such a copier or a firm which copies or microfilms rare and fragile documents. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Chris Whalen Ohio
