I recently learned that a family member, James A. Miller, moved from KY to San Francisco, CA about 1870. His wife died in Oakland, CA in April 1876. (Mary Brown Miller). Now I know that James A. Miller died Oct. 8, 1900, and would like to find an obituary for him. I'm also thinking that since he had about 5 children still living at this time that he probably left a will. His children were Susan Miller b. 5/1/1844 d. 9/17/1886, Oakland, CA m. William W. Shaw b. 1/19/1838 d. 8/14/1918, Berkeley, CA James A. Miller b. 11/16/1846 d. 12/1/1918, Riverside, CA m. Hattie Elam (no dates available) Mary E. Miller, m. James Lyman ( I believe they stayed in KY) Noble Butler Miller b. 1850 d. 1876 San Francisco, CA Octavia Miller m. Robert H. Fletcher in 1878 San Francisco, CA Joseph C. Miller William W. Miller b. 6/20/1864 d. 2/29/1940 San Francisco, CA m. Henrietta Russell d. 11/6/1947, San Francisco, CA Can anyone tell me where I might be able to send for copies of the obits for these people or where I might obtain a copy of the will of James A. Miller? Is there a local library that will do obit lookups for a reasonable fee plus the copying cost? Since I live in PA it is rather difficult to find information so far away.
