    1. [CASANFRA] query - Robert Emmett Pearson - author, journalist, and historian for the Navy
    2. Greetings, I have been trying to locate children / relatives / friends of this man. Robert Emmett Pearson was born in Minnesota in 1923. His parents were Emmett V Pearson and Cathryn Sullivan Pearson (both born in Minnesota and moved to Northern California sometime in the 1920s or 1930s). I knew his parents very well. I have letters, cards, and mortuary and newspaper obits for both Emmett V. and Robert Emmett Pearson. Emmett V. died in Southern California in 1966 where he and his wife were living at the time. Cathryn Sullivan Pearson sent me letters and cards from the time I was very little (1949) to the 1970s. She died in Northern California in 1982. She and her husband are buried in San Diego. Robert Emmett Pearson had a daughter named Cathryn Pearson, born around 1954, 1955, or 1956. Her nickname was Kitty. Robert Emmett Pearson had a son named Robert Pearson, born around 1956, 1957, 1958 (nicknamed Bobby). The children's mother's name was Tina, but I have no maiden name for her. They were divorced in the 1960s, and she and the children moved to Northern California. Since I have just discovered these websites, I am hoping someone knows of this family since Robert Emmett Pearson lived in Southern California at his death in 1969 and is buried there. Robert Emmett Pearson was a journalist for the Pacific Palisades newspaper in the 1960s. He was an editor for the Seabees yearbook at one time. He wrote a non-fiction book that was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. He wrote stories for True West magazine. He was an historian for the Navy and went to Viet Nam in the fall of 1968. He died the next February. His wife at that time was named Jane. I would be most appreciative to receive any information regarding Robert Emmett Pearson or his family. Thank you, Carol Calif native in VA
