    3. For those interested in locating where the Charles Cleveland Bernett tombstone was found here's the scoop. I consulted with my younger brother David Urbanus (who was 13, not 9, making me 22 and the find 32 years ago). Lands End was too generic. It actually was at Lincoln Park. We skirted the golf course above a cliff edge and descended a narrow gorge. He recalls that the tombstone was buried partially in the mud. There were lots of large granite pieces around which I waded. Neither he nor I recall whether there were other tombstones visible or accessible, and what the tide conditions were. In any case with the slick and slippery gorge making it almost impossible to bring it up, we couldn't have handled anything bigger. The rescue was NOT planned. It weighs just under 100 lbs., is 17" h, 12" w and 6" d.
