I have bios on CHURCH folks in my SF books (but nothing for JOHN HENRY CHURCH): From BAY OF SAN FRANCISCO, publ 1892 (a two volume set) ================== CHURCH, E.B - Vol II - page 473 He was an Episcopal Minister and the 4th generation to have this name (EDWARD B CHURCH). "He held the position of head Master of St. Matthew's Hall in San Mateo from 1869 to 1881. In 1881 he came to San Francisco and established Irving Institute, the well known school for young ladies" === CHURCH, L.S. - Vol I - page 603 He was born in Alvarado, Alameda Co. in 1865 - a lawyer and appointed Assistant District Attorney in 1889. He and wife had 9 children - none of these children was named JOHN HENRY CHURCH. === CHURCH, R.W. - Vol I - page 602 He is one of the brothers of L.S. mentioned above - he was born 1855 in Alameda County =-also a lawyer and politician - he and wife Mattie had 2 children - non of which is your JOHN HENRY CHURCH ==================================== ==================================== From HISTORY OF SAN FRANCISCO BAY REGION - by Millard Bailey, publ 1924 (a three volume set) ====================== CHURCH, Augutus - Vol III page 368 He was born in 1816 in New York. I wish he fit in with the Churchs you found but the life of a genealogist is never easy.
