    3. Mostly rings true, but here's a quibble. As a Parkside native and Lincoln alum from the days when it was an isolated box (factory?) I sang "High on a hilltop, ... " at every student body event, but never identified myself as going to school "High on a hill." Many students in the Sunset did cross-town commutes to Poly, Washington, Lowell, and even Galileo. After all, a trip on the Muni cost 2 1//2 cents on a 20-ride student pass! Also, to my knowledge, no one I knew mispronounced Portola as PORT-ola.
