Like most of us, I have been searching for my family pre-1906 genealogy information for years. It has been very frustrating. It's so difficult sometime, not knowing what information is available and where to find it. Recently, I purchased Nancy Peterson's book "Raking the Ashes," Genealogical Strategies for Pre-1906 San Francisco Research. It is a vertual goldmine of information. Not only does she tell you where those elusive facts you have been researching can be found, but she also tells you what is not available. You name it, Nancy Peterson tells you where to find it.
