Hi Nancy, The fire destroyed the records of the Superior Court where divorces proceedings took place. However, all is not lost. Divorces were listed in the city newspapers so if you know about when it happened, you could thumb through. Beyond that, in Nancy S. Peterson's Raking the Ashes, she states that some newspapers printed a compiled alphabetical summary of divorces at year end that included surnames and grounds - but not the date. She has a list of some of those from 1856 to 1892. At least you would have the year and grounds if these were done for 1904 and 1904. This book is gold. I'm almost finished reading it and I've learned so much more about SF genealogy.
