Well thank you, I'll lookup what station that it might be! On the city directory stuff sort of strange because Michael had a brother Cornelius who died in 1896 in a ship wreak as did the father Frederick 1894. I your Cornelius listed wasn't from the same family but who knows going way back. Keep in mind I have almost every year from the city directories on Michael. I did see a James W. Condon listed as a fireman 1901 which would fit. As for last name Cornelius (the others you listed that's definitely isn't ours) I was hoping for a James, Lawrence or George Condon listed in the 1904-7 time period. You see I've never heard anything about the other brothers besides Cornelius. I'm not sure if they die or take off. None our listed on any obit that I have but I do need to find a few. I do know my ggg came over about 1876-1880 and then in 1880 his wife came over with their five boys who where from 8-18 years of age. Frederick Condon - Sea man worked a lot with the Fire Dept. Mary Condon Children: Michael Condon b. 1859/60 (1915 - 367 Fair Oaks Engineer, S.F.F.D San Francisco,) I have almost every year but 1906-1910 Cornelius Condon b. 1862 (1886 - 1030 Pacific Avenue Fireman SFFD San Francisco, ) James Condon Lawrence Condon George Condon Thanks again! If I can only get this crazy Condon puzzle straight!!! "Here's a strange story of research- one day on my lunch break I had gone into a local library as I often did. Usually I would just look at the books for "Scranton Family". For some reason I turned around and my hand went right to a book in the Northern California section, which I had never been searching in that area. SF was as high in the state as I had searched. Away I opened it and the page opened to people who died in the area. Right there it said "Cornelius Condon died in 1896 in a Ship wreck". I couldn't believe it, it was like someone turned me around to find the book. Later on after getting the articles from the wreck it lead to finding his father my gggf Frederick Condon who also died two years earlier in a ship wreck. So I've always had this feeling this family story wants to be told!!!" Have a great day! Cathie On Aug 22, 2006, at 12:04 AM, [email protected] wrote: > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. Cathie I checked the San Francisco Municipal Reports of 1902-03, 1903-04 and 1904-05, and no Condon, was listed as working on San Francisco Fire Department Truck # 7. So do not know how his name showed up in the photo. ;-) George The Schafers <[email protected]> wrote: Well thank you, I'll lookup what station that it might be!
