If they are using the Family Tree Maker Marriage CD then the California data will be sparse indeed. They only had one county (as I remember from years ago, and I may be in error about this) and it was Santa Clara. My in-laws married in Santa Clara, within the time frame they had, and they were not listed. So I would not assume data would be available for the whole state, but one can always hope it has been augmented. (I don't have the premium membership) First, the vitalsearch marriage database goes back only to 1949. Second, you can try this site: http://abish.byui.edu/specialCollections/westernStates/search.cfm Third, have you already looked for these marriages in the San Francisco CALL database? You can start searching by visiting: http://www.cefha.org/usa/ca/sf/sfcall/6999/sfci6999.html The Schafers wrote: The Title is: Marriages (Western) 1850-1951 Arizona, California, Idaho, and Nevada, 1850-1951 Marriage Index Which to me sounds like I should try and see if a few of my problem relatives are on here! Albert Johnson m. Mary Matilda McLaughlin (late 1880-1881) William E. Dean to Annie McLaughlin (1898-1900) Milton Kraft to Olive McLaughlin (1900 approx.) Unfortunately this is all on one family and three of their girls, of who I can't find. I tried all the Catholic Churches and NO has records. It's possible they were married at St. Patrick's were I think all records are gone. Anyway if some has this disk I would love it they could lookup any or all of my names. If I had Dates I could really pin point my searches. Please note: I do have all the Censuses on these people and I have all there children I have also checked on SFCall database.
