Dear Pat, I haven't seen anyone mention my all girl Catholic school, Notre Dame de Namur. It was on Dolores Street at 16th Street, across from the old Mission Dolores. It was a 12 year school and some of the girls were from rural areas. They boarded at the convent school. The same nuns also taught at the boys school, Mission Dolores, which is on 16th Street between Dolores and Church Sts. It is still a school. Notre Dame closed down many years ago. This is the same order of nuns who have other schools in the Bay Area and the Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, Ca., a suburb south of The City.
