Can anybody tell me why a person would be listed in the Northern California Index of Civil War Soldiers (inclduing company and division) and then not have a military record of some kind at the National Archives? Kathy

Try a different spelling of his name...or, if he had a first and middle name, try switching them...or...try just the last name! He's there...you just have to find him!!
