The News Review, Roseburg, OR Sept. 30, 2008 p. 7 Jeanie Mesa Age 73, of Roseburg, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2008, after an 11-month battle with cancer. She was born on July 18, 1935, in San Francisco, Calif. She was the daughter of Jeanette and Homer Henke. Jeanie worked in the business office of Douglas Community and Mercy Hospital for many years until her partial retirement. Jeanie enjoyed camping, playing games, ceramics, needlepoint, reading, her dogs, and football. She was preceded in death by her son, Grant Mesa. She is survived by her brother, Michael Arrata, of California; sons, Sy and Denny Mamola and grandchildren, Ashley, Michele, and Scott Mamola; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Teri Mesa of Stayton, Oregon; grandchildren, Jon and Alicia Mesa; daughter, Celina Mesa of Turner, Oregon, and grandchild, BryAnna Afolter; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Lori Mesa of Roseburg; grandchildren, Cameron, Peyton, and Bennett Mesa; daughter-in-law, Kim Mesa of Creswell, Oregon, and grandchild, Shalene Mesa; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Rebecca Mesa of Roseburg; grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Mesa. Jeanie loved her grandchildren very much. She was a wonderful mom, grandma, mother-in-law, and friend and will be missed greatly. Jeanie's Christian faith was very strong, and we know she is resting in the Lord until His return.
